Hi,
We are visiting St Petersburg for a concert and general site seeing in April. Being English and at a time of political turmoil !! are we to expect confrontation from the Russian public ?

Thanks for your reply. I have read so much about Russia and its people and am really looking forward to going. I am I no way anti Russian and hold them in high regard as a nation.

I really doubt that you are going to have any sort of confrontation from the Russians unless you misbehave or you insult someone. Usually Russian people are very calm, respectful, and not aggressive. Therefore, you can travel in the country without worries.

Perhaps you want to avoid talking politics and just enjoy the city. Lastly, as everywhere in the world, you must be alert of pickpockets, so watch your wallet. For the rest you will be fine and have a good time.
