Near St. Petersburg's city center next to the Kazan Cathedral, Friends Hostel offers a peaceful courtyard setting on the scenic Griboedova Canal that's the best of both worlds – being one minute's walk to bustling Nevsky Prospekt and returning to relax in an oasis of quiet. The shared and private rooms are clean and tidy, and the common area has a TV, sofa, refrigerator, microwave, free Wi-Fi and computers. Breakfast isn't offered, but there are plenty of great local cafes and restaurants nearby to enjoy. Bike rentals are available and the terrific staff gladly assist with anything from sightseeing to dining to transportation to just needing a hairdryer.
