Electronic Visa For St Petersburg Russia

Hi,

I am an Indian passport holder living in Switzerland, which is part of the Schengen zone. Do I need a visa to visit Russia?
I expect some Indian guests to come to Switzerland with a Schengen visa. Could they also visit Russia on the same visa?

As far as I am aware if you are an Indian passport holder and you wish to travel to Russia you can NOW apply online for the St Petersburg E-Visa.

Below is a sum up of all countries eligible to apply for the new St Petersburg E-Visa since October 2019:

Austria
Andorra
Bahrain
Belgium
Bulgaria
Cyprus
China
Croatia
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
France
Finland
Germany
Greece
Hungary
India
Indonesia
Iran
Ireland
Iceland
Italy
Kuwait
Japan
Latvia
Lithuania
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
Malaysia
Malta
Mexico
Monaco
Netherlands
North Korea
Northern Macedonia
Norway
Oman
Poland
Portugal
Philippines
Qatar
Romania
San Marino
Saudi Arabia
Serbia
Singapore
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Taiwan
Turkey
Vatican City

Anyone on that list can now travel to St Petersburg, Russia and apply for the new on-line visa. No need to go to the Russian consulate like before! You just submit your application online, fill in a form, pay, and within a few days you will receive your e-visa by email.

Those who are not in that list are not eligible for the St. Petersburg and Leningrad online visa.

Hence, they are required to apply for a Russian tourist visa through a Russian embassy or consulate.
